How do you organize events in or near nature reserves in a sustainable way, taking into account the location, the organizer and the visitor?

The next nano-challenge is about this question, in which we work with concrete design solutions on behalf of the Lonnekerberg Foundation and Landschap Overijssel. We use Twenthe Airport as a case study.

This nano-challenge ( see an explanation here ) takes place on

Wednesday 6 October: kick-off / introduction / group formation
Wednesday 13 October: gathering knowledge (including Sustainability Week)
Thursday, October 28: gaining in-depth information
Wednesday 10 November: coming up with solutions
Thursday, November 18: thinking through and designing solutions
Wednesday 24 November: reflection and presentations

Each meeting lasts from 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm, and takes place at one of the knowledge institutions (ROC van Twente, Saxion University of Applied Sciences, University of Twente, ArtEZ/AKI) – or on location. If that is not possible, we will work together virtually. And good to know: the program is offered bilingually (English/Dutch), depending on who participates.

Because we work in small groups, we expect you to be there for the entire program. And it can happen that – also because we work in the evenings – you have some homework to do between meetings: approach people, gather information, test solutions. It won’t be more than a few hours.

Do you think it would be interesting to work with other students, to learn how to use the design approach and to contribute to a social issue? Then sign up! Or… if it doesn’t fit this time: show your interest so that you can participate next time!
